Münchener Hypothekenbank has improved its sustainability rating at ISS STOXX from C+ to B-. This puts the Bank among the highest-rated institutions within a peer group of 119 mortgage and development banks (Decile Rank 1). The ‘Prime’ label, which ISS STOXX awards to companies with a proven track record of strong ESG performance, has also been confirmed.

“Sustainability makes our Bank more resilient in the face of economic, climate-related and regulatory changes. Hence, it is a key component of our long-term strategic approach. The fact that ISS STOXX has now awarded us a higher rating confirms that we are on the right track,” says Dr Holger Horn, CEO of Münchener Hypothekenbank.

ISS STOXX assesses the sustainability performance of around 8,000 companies using over 100 individual indicators on a scale from D- to A+. The assessment is based exclusively on information available to the public, such as sustainability and disclosure reports, as well as published guidelines.
